Abram Gomez is the Executive Pastor of Cross Church, formerly known as Valley International Christian Center, in San Benito, TX. He serves under the leadership of Bishop Jaime Loya and helps in leading the 2,500-member congregation. Abram is a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Ministries. He recently earned his Master’s Degree in Human Services Counseling with a specialization in Executive Leadership from Liberty University. Abram is the founder and director of Next Gen, a movement designed to mentor Next Generation Church Leaders. Abram recently received approval as a team member and representative for Nation 2 Nation University, a video-based ministerial school offering two and four year degrees. His teaching is a part of the curriculum including Youth Ministry, Church Administration and Church Growth. Occasionally, Abram writes for Valley Christian Magazine, a regional periodical that covers the entire valley. He and his wife, Rebecca, reside in Harlingen along with their precious daughter Isabella and son Jude.
Rebecca Gomez was born on March 10, 1982 in Richmond Texas to Apostle Frank and Rosie Benavides, Sr. At an early age Rebecca started singing duets with her siblings and would often join them onstage at different church venues and conferences. Rebecca continued singing throughout the years. She has represented the Rio Grande Valley in National Vocal Competitions including Valley's Got Talent and Chica. Into 2004, Rebecca received a Praise and Worship Leader position at Family Christian Center in Hillsboro, Texas and continued ministry there for two years. Into 2006, she returned to Harlingen, Texas and continued ministering at the church her parents founded, Valley International Christian Center, now Cross Church. In April 2008, she married Abram Gomez and they welcomed their beautiful daughter Isabella in November 2012 and son Jude in 2017. Currently Rebecca ministers alongside her husband as a Worship Leader and is the Ministry Director of Jaime Loya Ministries.
Joey Salazar is a passionate and fervent minister of the Gospel. Called into ministry at a very young age, he has committed his life to passionately delivering God’s word to both youth and adults from various walks of life. With his ability to communicate in both English and Spanish, Joey challenges hearers with a creative, upfront, and anointed message. Joey has graduated from multiple ministry internships including: Impact Now and Ignite. He studied Bible Institute at Southeastern Spanish District, and has served in different roles in ministry including: Assistant Pastor, Media Director, Internship Assistant Director, Graphic Artist, Musician, Youth Pastor, and Evangelist. He currently serves as Executive Pastor at Journey Church under the leadership of Pastors JJ and Liz Vasquez. Journey's mission is simple: Jesus should be accessible to anyone. He also serves as Executive Director with Next Gen, a movement designed to mentor and coach the next generation of church leaders. Joey is currently writing his first book, which will be available in the Fall of 2017. Joey, along with his beautiful wife, Zerelys, and both children, Joely and Joziah, reside in Orlando, FL.
Hervin Antonio-Hidalgo received his calling into ministry at the age of 19 although he began to serve his church in the worship ministry at a very young age. At age 21, he began to study music and bible at Instituto CanZion Tennessee. In 2011, he served as an Administrative and Worship Pastor at ICE Church in Laredo, TX. Hervin and his wife currently serve at Cross Church in San Benito, TX under the leadership of Jaime Loya. Hervin will soon graduate from The King’s University at Gateway with a Bachelor’s in Biblical and Theological Studies, he plans to continue his studies by pursuing a Master’s Degree from Liberty University. He and his wife, Abigail, reside in San Benito, TX.
Tad is the owner and founder of Adoration Seminars, where he serves to develop, structure, and educate worship leaders and teams. He has been leading worship for over 15 years for various churches and ministries, and currently serves as worship director for Iglesia Del Pueblo in Mission, Texas. Tad holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and a Master's degree in Worship Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. He is currently working on his first worship album. He is also writing his first book on worship ministry and leadership. Tad is also the founder of the Worship Leadership Institute (WLI) in McAllen, Texas where he serves to educate worship pastors and leaders in their roles, responsibilities, and crafts as leaders both on and off the platform. Tad and his wife, Lizette, reside in McAllen, Texas.
Astrid Salinas was born in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas and raised in Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas, Mexico until she moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1997. She serves at Vida Worship Center in Weslaco, Texas under her parent’s leadership where she is currently working with the Administrative Team and Youth Ministry. In 2014, God entrusted her with a non-profit organization called 1HEART1PURPOSE. She also earned a degree in Behavior Science (sociology and psychology). In 2016 she was a part of The Tribe, which helped her sharpen her ministry skills. In 2017, God gave her the privilege to start serving on the Next Gen team. She has a passion for people and the community; she enjoys meeting new people and is very social.
